UTTINGER, GEORGE W.

Mr. George W. Uttinger died at his home, 209 East Third street, Wednesday morning at an early hour, aged 81 years. Mr. Uttinger was born and reared in Jessamine county and moved to this city about fifty years ago and engaged in the carpentering and contracting business. Four children survive him.

VAUGHN, WILLIAM
William Vaughn, 43, died at his home on South Broadway this afternoon, after an illness of pneumonia. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Vaughn; three children, Katherine, Mary Margaret and John Vaughn of Nicholasville; four brothers, Charles, Grayson, Edward and Harry Vaughn of Jessamine County; and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Collier of Wisconsin. Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral service will be Monday afternoon. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

VENCE, RUTH GARRETT
Ruth Garrett Vence, 75, wife of Henry Frederick Vence of Nolands Ashgrove Estates, died at her home on Sept. 7, 2000. She was a veteran of the US Army and daughter of the late James D. Garrett and Davy Lee Burns Garrett. Additional survivors include four children, Henry Lee Vence, Daniel Vence, Karin Rumbauskas and David Vence; 5 grandchildren; a brother, James Garrett & 2 sisters, Jessie Ball and Dorothy Phillips. Funeral services were held at Betts and West Funeral Home on Monday at noon with the Rev. Edward Machan officiating. Burial followed at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Jessamine Co. Hospice.

Earl Vickers, 54, of 509 Sandee Drive, Nicholasville, formerly of Lexington, owner and operator of Earl Vickers Excavating Co. and husband of Jean Stone Vickers, died yesterday at Veterans Administration Medical Center off Cooper Drive.

VONGRUNIGEN, JOHN
Mr. John VonGrunigen died at his home in Louisville on Thursday, Jan. 19, 1911, of acute Bright’s disease. Mr. VonGrunigen was 37 years old and a brother of Mr. Julius VonGrunigen, of Nicholasville and leaves a wife and baby boy, eighteen months old. The deceased was a successful groceryman of Louisville, and an excellent young man. The Journal extends sympathy to this family in their sorrow.
